MAP counter-guarantee for Polfund (Poland)

Under the framework of the European Commission's Multiannual Programme for Enterprise (MAP), EIF has provided a counter-guarantee covering the guarantee activities of Polfund Fundusz Poręczen Kredytowych S.A. (Polfund) in Poland. The cooperation will benefit Polfund as a young institution with a high growth potential in the segment of mid-term investment loans.

Polfund is the second largest Polish guarantee fund and is the first guarantee institution with which EIF has signed an agreement in Poland. It is a private guarantee fund, whose shareholders are Polish Enterprise Foundation and Bank Zachodni WBK S.A.. Polfund operates nationwide, offering a range of guarantee products that have principally assisted short-term guarantees and working capital financing to date. The participation with EIF will now enable Polfund to support longer-term investments and therefore reach a wider part of the market.
