CIP support to German early stage companies

The EIF has made a cornerstone investment of EUR 15m in Creathor Venture Fund III SICAR, a technology venture capital fund focusing on early stage investments in Germany. This transaction was made under the European Commission Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme" (CIP) which aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises in their early stages of development.

Creathor’s team focuses on young ICT and cleantech companies. It provides proactive support to businesses, including recruitment, definition and execution of the business strategies, and market share building thus encouraging growth, development and job creation.

EIF’s backing using CIP resources was crucial to enable the fund to improve access to equity finance for early stage technology companies in a venture capital market which suffers from a lack of funding.
