EIF Annual Report 2021

  •
    Release date: 08 April 2022

In 2021, despite the emerging global economic rebound, the outlook for European SMEs remained precarious and uncertain as many of the pandemic’s challenges persisted. This has required continued support for SME financing to ensure a sustainable recovery.

In this context, throughout the year, we accelerated our financial relief measures focussing our efforts on helping Europe recover. We rapidly rolled out targeted financial packages and other instruments to ensure that European businesses were able to weather the crisis and continue their growth and development. This meant that we deployed volumes never achieved in our history as we more than doubled our 2020 performance figures.

In 2021 we also embarked on a transformational journey, resulting in a more thematic approach to SMEs financing. Discover details in our Annual Report.
