EIF Annual Report 2019

The EIF’s 2019 activity reflects the ongoing demand for SME financing in Europe, as well as the EIF’s commitment to serve it. Last year the EIF mobilised record-breaking levels of resources in support of around 323,000 SMEs.

We continued to develop new programmes and instruments on behalf of the EU and other parties to tackle market gaps – whether sectoral, geographical or finance-based, that affect access to finance for SMEs and have spent considerable time and resources on gauging our impact as well.

In terms of overall business volume, the EIF grew its annual committed volume to a total of EUR 10.2 billion in 2019, leveraging an estimated EUR 58.9 billion worth of financing.
