This is the fourth volume of the series entitled ”The European venture capital landscape: an EIF perspective”. This series aims at assessing whether EIF’s venture capital activity positively affected beneficiary start-up companies, contributing to the broader theme of government intervention in the field of venture capital. This paper analyses the value of innovations for startups supported by EIF in the years 1996 to 2014, as measured through patent applications.

The EIF Working Papers are designed to make available to a wider readership selected topics and studies in relation to EIF´s business. The Working Papers are edited by EIF´s Research & Market Analysis and are typically authored or co-authored by EIF staff or are written in cooperation with EIF. The Working Papers are usually available only in English and typically distributed in electronic form (pdf).
