The Kalamata olive is unique to the southern Peloponnese city from which it takes it name, with about 70% of the local population working in the olive industry. Manifoods is a company that processes, packages and exports Kalamata olives. Growing in spite of the economic crisis in Greece, the company relied on EU support to secure the financing needed to double its staff and open two new production lines.
