"Our financing helps businesses to keep pace and move into a brighter future."

Innovation and digitalisation is one of our Public Policy Goals (PPGs), which - since 2020 - are guiding EIF's activity. Our efforts in support of EU priorities take the form of thematic interventions with clear policy targets.

Our impact in 2025

In a changing, digitalising world, Europe’s competitiveness depends on its ability to turn ideas into scale.

In 2025, the EIF committed €4.7bn to innovation, helping strengthen Europe’s technology and digitalisation ecosystem across areas such as deeptech, life sciences, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, space, cybersecurity and defence. Through initiatives such as ETCI, TechEU, InvestEU and TrackVC, we continued to back Europe’s brightest innovators from start-up to scale-up.
