ETCI 2.0 fundraising

If you are an institutional investor such as pension fund, insurer, foundation, family office, bank, or national promotional institution: join our pan-European initiative to scale Europe’s innovative, high-growth companies.

Funding tech champions at game changing scale

Building on the proven model of ETCI 1

The European Tech Champions Initiative 2.0 aims to mobilise four times (4x) more capital than ETCI 1 for European technology companies at growth stage and combines an expanded fund-of-funds strategy with a dedicated investment platform for institutional investors, both anchored by the EIB Group and Member States.

Moving from catalyst to scale

The initiative's significant expansion will crowd in institutional investors, in addition to public resources from Member States and the EIB Group, making ETCI the largest funding instrument in Europe fully dedicated to scaling up innovative European companies to compete globally.

Stepping up efforts to narrow the funding gap

The time for Europe’s capital markets union is now. That's why the EIB Group responds to EU leaders’ call for action with proven pan-European instruments to boost European competitiveness. Turning savings into investment and leading the technologies of tomorrow are central to Europe’s sovereignty - says EIB Group President Nadia Calviño.

ETCI is part of the EIB Group’s broader efforts to mobilise capital at scale in support of Europe’s strategic priorities, contributing to TechEU and the Savings and Investment Union.

What's new under ETCI 2.0?

ETCI 2.0 includes two key evolutions to strengthen Europe’s growth-stage financing capacity and it’s pan European reach. These enhancements are aiming to achieve greater scale and impact.

Expanded fund-of-funds strategy

Opening up the initiative to mid-sized funds (€300m+) alongside mega funds (€1bn+), extending market focus and diversification to broader geographies and across a wider spectrum of scale-ups.

Dedicated investment platform

Designed to facilitate participation from private institutional investors in a structured and scalable manner.

Investors will be invited to participate in the investment platform by earmarking a specific amount, reflecting their ambition to support European scale-ups.

Expected to be launched later in 2026, the ETCI 2.0 investment platform will offer investors a range of investment options tailored to their investment capacity, experience, and risk appetite.
