Finom: finance’s AI disrupter

“Humans are creatures of habit” – Konstantin “Kos” Stiskin, co-founder of Finom, the European fintech company taking the finance world by storm.

Founded in 2019 by a team of entrepreneurs with a strong track record in building and scaling companies, Finom has since grown into a truly European success story. Headquartered and licensed in the Netherlands, with offices from Barcelona to Krakow, Kos joined our call from his balcony in Cyprus.

Designed for SMEs

"Legacy is overrated. Finom is fighting legacy – and that applies to everything, even to ourselves. We need to think with first principles, using logic and not over-complicating. We can't be legacy-dependent.” - says Konstantin “Kos” Stiskin, co-founder of Finom.

Finom offers an all-in-one financial platform for SMEs, freelancers, and small businesses. Its services streamline financial operations like accounting, payments, tax or invoicing, so that customers – mainly small businesses - no longer need to juggle multiple tools at once. “Our promise is to reduce administrative pain,” says Kos. “Finom fills a space that’s been underserved for years: smaller SMEs that banks won’t lend to, and companies or individuals working with crypto.” This promise resonates with more than 200 000 businesses across Europe today, with particularly strong traction among SMEs in Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands.

In a historically rich sector, Finom is a genuine disrupter. “We use AI to help our customers with taxes, procurement, invoices – everything you can imagine. It’s a new world. We use tech to make time-consuming tasks faster and easier.”

The journey wasn’t always straightforward. “We knew there was huge potential, but in 2022 we struggled,” recalls Kos. “We couldn’t get backing, couldn’t get investors to give us the time of day. Fintech was still relatively new, and the fact that we’re four Russians didn’t help, so we doubled-down on what we could control: execution, product, and our customers. And it paid off.”

Next chapter

Fast forward to 2025: Finom has raised €115 million in a Series C round with participation from new investor Headline Ventures – a fund supported by the European Tech Champions Initiative, which aims to help ambitious European tech companies grow. Finom’s immediate next step is to deepen its offering. “Our vision is to provide the full spectrum of modern banking and financial services SMEs need to operate and grow,” says Kos. “We’ve completed the breadth of our products. Now we’re working on depth – for example, there are a thousand types of invoices or CRM systems we still need to build.”

Kos is upbeat about the future: “There’s a vibrant, energetic, can-do culture around AI. People are enthusiastic and open – and that makes it easy to progress and innovate,” he says, smiling before concluding: “Regulation can limit you, not people.”

Finom fills a space that’s been underserved for years: smaller SMEs that banks won’t lend to. ”
