Together with the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development (HBOR), in 2023 EIF launched the CROGIP II investment programme with €52 million resources to support fast-growing SMEs, small mid-caps and mid-caps established and operating in Croatia.
The programme is expected to catalyse additional private-sector investments into the equity funds backed by this programme. A key objective is to support emerging fund managers devoting a significant part of their investments to Croatian companies.

As part of the activities under the CROGIP II, the first call for expression of interest was published on 5 October 2023 with the aim of selecting Financial Intermediaries that meet the conditions for the funding available under the programme.
The current selection process under CROGIP II seeks to identify eligible Financial Intermediaries for an investment of up to EUR 13 million to be deployed in line with the programme’s objectives and requirements. Applicants may express their interest for an investment of up to the referred amount.
HBOR’s commitment is financed through the Recovery and Resilience Facility within the NextGenerationEU initiative accordance with the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026 (NRRP) of the Government of the Republic of Croatia.
The CROGIP II programme represents an important milestone in the EIF’s efforts to support the development of the Croatian VC/PE ecosystem. It ensures continuity and complements previous initiatives, underscoring our continued commitment to the Croatian market.
How to apply?
Under this call for expression of interest, the EIF intends to select one or more Financial Intermediaries, based on EIF standard process. Please consult the Call for Expression documents and the eligibility criteria in further depth and submit the application via email byt the deadline.
