Remuneration

EIF offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.

All benefits are subject to eligibility criteria. The nature and level of benefits will be fully explained during the recruitment process and are detailed in the Staff Regulations, which form an integral part of the employment contract.

Salary and bonus

  • Salaries
EIF’s salaries are designed to be competitive, to take account of differing levels of responsibility and to motivate and encourage excellent performance.  Salaries are adjusted annually for cost of living and good performance.
  • Bonus
A discretionary annual lump-sum bonus may be provided to eligible staff in recognition of good to superior performance.

Leave
  • Annual leave

In addition to public holidays, full-time employees receive 24 days’ annual leave.

  • Special leave

EIF also has provisions for maternity leave, paternity leave, paid parental leave, adoption leave, study leave, leave for family reasons as well as a number of days of special leave for a variety of reasons.

  • Leave without pay

Staff members, who have completed the required number of years of service, may request unpaid leave either on personal or professional grounds.

Relocation assistance
EIF provides financial and logistical assistance for eligible staff relocating to Luxembourg.  This includes:

  • Relocation and resettlement assistance & payment for relocation and resettlement costs
  • Installation allowance on entry into service
  • Home leave (includes a number of days’ leave + contribution towards cost of trip)

Housing assistance
A mortgage subsidy is available for eligible staff.

Health and fitness
The EIB Group has a number of in-house sports facilities, which are open to all staff for an annual fee.

Retirement Plans

  • Defined-Benefits Scheme

Funded by both the staff member and EIF, this scheme provides a monthly pension upon retirement based on the number of years of service.

The transfer of acquired pension rights from or to a national scheme is possible for some EU member states.

  • Optional Supplementary Provident Scheme

This scheme is part of the EIB Group’s welfare scheme, aiming at allowing staff to build either a supplementary retirement pension or capital sum paid out when leaving EIF. It is funded by voluntary contributions in the form of monthly payments or a single lump sum contribution.
