Technical Assistance

EIF has been mandated by the European Commission to manage the JASMINE Initiative and provide Technical Assistance toselected Microfinance institutions (MFIs)/Microcredit providers. The services offered by EIF will be free of charge to increase the quality of the internal processes of the selected MFI. Such services will be:

Either an evaluation / diagnosis of their activity, organization and structure by Microfinanza Rating or Planet Rating, or a rating exercise performed by Microfinanza Rating or Planet Rating
After the evaluation /rating exercise specialized consultants will provide tailor-made trainings on specific areas to the staff and the management of the selected MFIs, with particular attention to the weaknesses observed in the evaluation / rating reports.

The Technical Assistance is financed by the European Commission, Directorate General for Regional Policy with no charge to the beneficiary institutions.

Who is eligible?

Non bank MFIs/Microcredit providers active in the European Union. MFIs / Microcredit providers interested in receiving Technical Assistance under JASMINE will be selected based on predefined eligibility and award criteria. The calls for expression of interest will be published on this website. The next call will be launched and published at the beginning of the second semester 2010.

EIF foresees to provide Technical Assistance to at least 30 MFIs / Microcredit providers throughout the European Union during the years 2010-2011.
