EUR 4.5m for VIVES, a new Belgian seed capital fund

EIF has just signed a commitment to invest up to EUR 4.5 million in VIVES, a Belgian venture capital fund which will exclusively focus on companies in their seed and start-up phase.

VIVES is managed by Sopartec, the technology transfer and investment company owned by the Université Catholique de Louvain (UCL). The fund's mission is to invest in new technology-based firms, which are either spin-offs from the UCL or companies benefiting from a strategic partnership with UCL.
