EIF participates in Nordic Biotech Venture Fund II K/S, Denmark

European Investment Fund (EIF) has committed EUR 10.4 million in Nordic Biotech Venture Fund II K/S, a Danish venture capital fund, that will primarily invest in biotech companies with a focus on drug development. EIF is also an investor in the first fund, Nordic Biotech K/S.

The total fund size is EUR 41.5 million at first closing and it is expected that the fund size will be up to EUR 90 million at second closing.

The fund is managed by Nordic Biotech Advisors ApS, a Copenhagen-based fund advisory company. Nordic Biotech is located in the Medicon Valley area of Copenhagen, one of the leading biotech clusters in Europe, which has a comprehensive presence of life sciences companies and research institutes.

Investors in Nordic Biotech Venture Fund II K/S include Vaekstfonden, LD Pensions, W Capital Management AB and H. Lundbeck A/S as well as the partners.
