EIF makes a cornerstone investment in Inventure Fund Ky
Date: 29/05/2008EIF announces today an investment in Inventure Fund Ky, a Helsinki-based fund focussing on innovative technology companies in Finland.
First closing was completed at EUR 35.4m with a final target at EUR 50m.
The fund will target technology companies with global market potential and attractive business model which are active in the software, electronics, semiconductors, industrial production and material technologies sectors.
The aim is to build a portfolio of 15-20 start-up companies, with an average investment of EUR 1-3m per company.
This investment was made under the European Commission Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP-GIF1). GIF1 aims to help SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) with their establishment or early stages of development.
