Date: 14/10/2005

The European Commission and the EIB Group have proposed a joint initiative to improve access to finance for micro to medium-sized enterprises in the European Regions.

The Joint European Resources for Micro to Medium Enterprises, known as JEREMIE, will offer Member States and European regional authorities the possibility to work with European Investment Fund in order to improve capacity in the field of financial engineering. The initiative will contribute to encouraging business development, including highly innovative activities, for the benefit of the regions concerned and of the European Union's economy as a whole.
