How to apply to become  an EIF Intermediary
Institutions need to provide a formal application for the  Loan, Micro-credit, or Equity Guarantee Windows. The formal application must be based on the information available for download at the bottom of this page.

List of participating countries
Financial intermediaries wishing to build up such portfolio of financing to SMEs and interested in applying to benefit from CIP coverage must be established and operating in one of the following participating countries.

Application information contains:

  • Pre-Selection Procedure: detailed information on how applications are treated by EIF and the European Commission;
  • The relevant Guarantee Policy and Operational Guidelines: details of the guarantee product, eligibility criteria, special EU requirements;
  • Minimum Information Requirements: applicants must address all of the points outlined in this section.

Please download the application information relevant to each Window for which your institution intends to apply. If applying for more than one Window, it is necessary to provide the application separately for each Window.

Selection procedure

EIF will pre-select applications in accordance with the Pre-Selection Procedure. Pre-selected applications are proposed to the EIF Board of Directors and to the European Commission for approval.

By pre-selecting applications, EIF does not bind itself to entering into an EU Guarantee or any other agreement with the applicant institution.
