Vækstfonden becomes EIF Shareholder

EIF is pleased to announce that, effective 30 June 2004 and following the EIB's agreement to sell three of its shares, Vækstfonden has joined the EIF's registry of shareholders.

Vækstfonden (Danish Investment Fund) is a public financial institution which provides loan and equity finance to innovative and high-growth SMEs in Denmark. Acting commercially with a subscribed capital of approximately EUR 323 million, Vækstfonden has two principle activities: 1) direct investments in start-up companies, and 2) fund-of-funds activity through co-investments in venture capital funds. Since August 2000, Vækstfonden is also responsible for the management of VækstKaution, a national loan guarantee scheme in Denmark.
